I've known Jasper for over a decade, right back to his early days at Endouble. I helped him through his move from business analysis into product, and even then, his practical, "get on with it" mindset was what set him apart. Jasper is great at bridging the gap between the big-picture strategy and the actual work that needs doing. He has a real knack for building trust between product and engineering, mostly because he knows how to challenge the status quo without being difficult about it. He brings in just enough structure to keep things clear, but never so much that it slows people down. He's never been a purist; he's someone who focuses entirely on what actually works in the real world. If you're a founder or an organisation looking for a grounded leader who delivers results without getting bogged down in theory, I can't recommend Jasper highly enough.

Jasper is the kind of product manager you want on your hardest problems. He leads with confidence and figures things out on his own, which made working with him easy. Give him an ambiguous brief and he comes back with a sharpened problem and a plan. What stood out most was his range. Jasper has been exposed to many sides of product management and it shows in how he operates. He moves comfortably between detailed execution and strategic framing, and he connects just as well with engineers in the trenches as with executives setting direction. If I could describe Jasper in one line, it is this. He is a well-rounded product professional who is comfortable with ambiguity and passionate about his craft, and I would hand him any challenge knowing he will figure it out.

Fresh from Australia, Jasper convinced us to award him with the very challenging role of Product Owner of our Datahub team developing and running our datawarehouse/datalake environment. In two years, Jasper has developed into a senior product owner of a strategic data portfolio. Jasper has been instrumental in establishing a new engineering team that delivered a state of the art performing AWS S3 environment that facilitates multicloud enabling. Jasper has set up a beautiful product vision on our data lake and the use of data in accordance with the architecture guidelines. The sprint reviews Jasper and his team provide are informative, interactive and a real pleasure to participate in. Jasper knows how to actively involve his stakeholders in his product vision and backlog management, in which he manages to find the right balance between user requirements, security/privacy/compliance, maintenance, ambitions and costs. Jasper masters the ability to quickly master new and/or complex matter and to translate this clearly from users and stakeholders. Apart from being a very nice professional colleague, he is also great company to have a good conversation with. I would (re)hire Jasper for several senior roles in no time.

I had the pleasure of working alongside Jasper for a year. As a product owner he was able to give a clear direction to the team by being pragmatic in deciding priority and having concreet mid en longterm goals. He was also competent in communicating these goals with the team and manage the conditions to make the goals achievable. These factors made him a good product owner because I (as a develop) had good focus and new what I was working towards. I highly recommend Jasper in a role as product owner / product developer / product manager. I believe any company that has Jasper in their team in such a role will have a good asset to achieve goals.

From the moment Jasper proactively approached JobAdder about wanting to be a part of our story his passion for solving tricky problems was evident. He had found a position at JobAdder without us even advertising. Jasper took on a very topical and extremely important problem area in the Recruitment world, that of Candidate experience. Without much guidance Jasper took this 6 month project on and ran with it, interviewing numerous customers from all segments on their approach to Candidate care and how JobAdder could look to potentially help them improve. The result was a highly informative paper with deep analysis and recommendations to the JobAdder team as to key problems that could be pulled out and focussed on. Jasper has a keen eye for detail, does not stop questioning until he feels the root of the problem has been defined and a passion for product that any company would be fortunate to have.

At my time at Intertrust, I've got to know Jasper as a very pleasant colleague to work with. In a very short time period, I've watched him grow from Business Analyst to Project Leader. Jasper is willing to delve into the content in order to steer the project in the right direction and to come to a solution together with his colleagues. He also quickly mastered the content of the various software packages, allowing him to quickly add value to the projects. In his time at Intertrust, he has been flexible by being able to work on many projects, including those for which travel was required and he could not always be home. He managed to solve this with a good balance for work-life. I can therefore warmly recommend Jasper as a possible new colleague!

I worked with Jasper on a critical project delivery. Jasper soon to assume the trust advisor role for the project, readily gathering key stakeholders, and was able to highlight all issues and key attributes in short order. Jasper's dedication and can-do attitude definitely helped to proceed the projects to successful implementations.
